Fun – Interactive – Informative

Chews Australia is the only business in Australia that is solely dedicated to offering interactive, fun & informative Workshops & Seminars on all things dog, cat & small animal.

Borrowing from the knowledge of animal trainers & specialists, our events are suited to all critter & hound enthusiasts and can be viewed as professional development for those working in the animal industry. They are also perfect alongside animal behaviour and training courses.

We are passionate about what we do and strive to offer a valuable source of education at an affordable price.

Our events are held in various locations in Melbourne, all of which are pet friendly and easily accessible.

Aside from regularly hosting Public Events, we can also bring the education to you, no matter where you are in Australia! We have organised both our public events to be held specifically for pet related businesses as well as ones that are tailored more to their needs.  Refer to the Events For You page for more information.

As the demand for education has grown over the last few years, we received requests for our events from various places around the world. This led us to offer Online Presentations through our Video on Demand Service on Vimeo.

Whilst we do host international speakers yearly, there are so many fantastic & knowledgable speakers in our own backyard and a majority of our events are presented by trainers and specialists from all across Australia.

We enjoy working together with these like minded individuals to bring you a high standard of learning and as a result, have become a trusted and reliable source of education in Australia.

Meet The Team

Tammie Wallis Chews Australia Team
Tammie Wallis – Director

Tammie has extensive business experience and has worked for both large and small organisations across many occupations. Following her passion for animals, she decided on a career change and spent a few years working and volunteering in various animal related businesses before completing a Certificate III in Dog Behaviour & Training through the National Dog Trainers Federation in 2011. On completion of this course, she went on to develop on her skills and knowledge and began working in animal behaviour at a large animal shelter in Melbourne.

Tammie was thirsty for as much knowledge as possible and she saw a need for resources to gain more knowledge and experience with animal training and behaviour. It was for this reason that Chews Australia was born in 2014.

Tammie is extremely passionate about all animals and she currently works with aggressive and reactive dogs at one of Melbourne’s leading obedience clubs. She enjoys learning as much as possible and regularly attends animal related events. She is also currently studying for a certificate in business.

Tammie loves working with like minded individuals and is a HUGE animal lover! She owns a small menagerie of 7 guinea pigs, 2 cats, 1 dog, 1 bird and 5 fish!

Anna Valencic

I have spent the majority of my working life in a “corporate” environment while also working part time as a Dog Trainer. In the last year or so, l have come on board with CHEWS and have had the pleasure of attending a number of great events.

The ‘corporate’ side of my life has now finished and l leave with a vast array of knowledge, experience and wonderful memories. Now l can channel all of my energy into dog training, working with CHEWS and spending time with my Bernese Mountain dogs.

l look forward to catching up with everyone that is familiar with CHEWS and also welcoming all new participants in 2018

Even though I have a full time job in the corporate world, my true passion lies in ‘everything dog’.

My rescue dog Minx was the reason I developed an interest in dog training and behaviour. After trawling through the Internet and YouTube videos, trying to make sense of all the different training methods, I decided to become a dog trainer myself.

I studied Dog Training & Behaviour Modification through the National Dog Trainers Federation (NDTF) and completed my cert III in 2013. I have been working at an Obedience School (Four Paws K9 Training) as an Instructor ever since and joined Chews Australia in the last year.

I thoroughly enjoy working for Chews which allows me to further my education and gives me opportunities to discover exciting new aspects in the world of pet guardianship. I’m very interested in canine nutrition and wellbeing and would like to continue to learn more and share my passion.

Kellie L’Hotellier

I’m Kellie L’Hotellier, I’m a certified and qualified dog trainer for Four Paws K9 training. Which I’ve been with for over 11 years. I also own a dog grooming salon in St Albans called Muddy Dogs.

At this point in time I have a large mixed breed dog called Western. I enjoy spending time with my dog and taking him on long walks. In the future I’d like to get a standard poodle to enhance my skills even more. I absolutely adore the Asian fusion grooming.

I love going to seminars on dog related subjects to improve my knowledge. I also enjoy growing as many vegetables as I can eat.

I look forward to meeting you at the Chews seminars and chatting about all things dog.

Janelle Fisher

Since I was a little one, I have always been around animals. My family bred and showed Shetland sheepdogs for 40 years which I was completely passionate and involved in, from grooming the dogs before shows and taking care of mums and pups.

As I grew, I never lost my love and passion for animals and always wanted to better myself and improve my knowledge about animal care and welfare. I volunteered my time at shelters and fostered animals in need and now I volunteer my time to wildlife. currently I have a full time job at a pet warehouse and I love to talk to people about all things pet.

Always wanting to expand my animal knowledge, I found chews to be the most easiest and fun way to learn and educate on all things animals.

In my animal family I have a Great Dane named Axle the doofus and a dachshund named Miss schnitzel von krumm.
